Please join us on October 10th, 2023 to support the Kevin O'Donovan Fellowship Program of CCA Maryland. This program provides important funding to provide meaningful jobs for individuals interested in work of conservation, habitat, and science based advocacy. 

In 2023, CCA Maryland formalized our first official class of fellows, adding essential capacity to the organization, while providing a meaningful experience for conservation leaders of our future.  Fellowship funds have supported the growth of partnerships Morgan University's Patuxent Estuarine Aquaculture Research Laboratory(PEARL), Salisbury University's biology department and the Environmental Justice Journalism Initiative(EJJI).

During their time with CCA, fellows focus on business management, event planning and execution, habitat restoration, fisheries & estuarine sciences, and outreach & education.  

Kevin O'Donovan served as chairman of the board for CCA Maryland & treasurer for the Building Conservation Trust, CCA's national habitat program until his untimely passing in 2021.  

During his single term as chairman, Kevin drove the development and advancement of CCA Maryland's Kids Corner, Scholarship & Habitat programs. He also rolled up his sleeves to build reef balls at his daughters school and spent countless nights helping turn wild ideas into real world successes.

Throughout his life, Kevin used his unique skills to leverage a broad network of caring friends and colleagues to help many causes. His time in leadership at CCA Maryland inspired new partnerships and always finding solutions to any challenges faced before and during the COVID pandemic. 

We now continue on with Kevin in our hearts and minds, still challenging us to do better each day, and keep working to build the next generation of conservationists with the same tenacity, empathy and spirt that Kevin embodied.
